Chocamocha Chocolate Cosmos Plant

Velvety deep red-brown flowers bloom from mid-summer to frost on upright stems that reach up to 30". The chocolate-scented blooms look stunning in borders and containers and are a delightful cut flower. Atrosanguineus Chocamocha requires minimal care during the growing season and is often grown as an annual in colder climates.

Space plants 12" apart in well-drained soil in a sunny location. Water regularly, especially during the first year. For perennial use, feed once in spring. Once established, water approximately weekly. 4.5 inch nursery pot

Cutting flowers will encourage continued blooms and add a delicious aroma to a bouquet indoors.

Chocamocha is tuberous and a tender perennial in zones 9-11. In our climate, treat it as an annual or dig up the tubers before the first frost and bring them inside for the winter. Store tubers in a cool, dry place and replant them in the spring after the last chance of frost has passed.
